Headaches
Headaches are usually defined in three ways: Migraines develop when the vessels in the brain become dilated. Migraines are generally accompanied by visual disturbances, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and sensitivity to light. Tension Headaches result from stress, poor posture, jaw dysfunction (TMJ), or neck tension. Pain generally begins at the base of the skull and wraps around the ears or behind the eyes. Mixed Headaches usually start as Tension Headaches. In response to the pain, the brain produces chemicals that induce conditions for the development of Migraines.
All massage therapy and bodywork techniques help to reduce pain, tension, and stress that cause and are the result of headaches. Each technique has a slightly different focus.Chair Massage is a quick and easy way to de-stress and relieve muscular tension. The focus is on the back, neck, and shoulders.
CranioSacral Therapy improves the subtle, natural movement of the bones in the skull and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. This fluid encases the brain and spinal cord. It is important to restore this movement when stress and trauma cause restrictions.
Deep Tissue Massage helps to free connective tissue. Tension is relieved layer by layer.
Neuromuscular ReEducation helps to improve posture by freeing soft tissues. Gentle, non-intrusive movement enables tension to be released on a deep level without pressure.
Swedish Massage promotes relaxation, stretches tight muscles, and relieves tension.
Reflexology releases energy blockages. The result is increased relaxation and energy flow and decreased pain.
